Not surprised that Marwin had the most time between pitches in the majors. All We Do Is Marwin shirt because it felt like I had a good look at him in every at-bat. There are some players where if you see their hair, you go “oh I’m not used to seeing him without his helmet or cap”. Not Marwin. You knew exactly what his hair looked like because he liked taking off his helmet to wipe the sweat off with his forearm between an AB from time to time. His hair looks nice btw. Having watched Marwin all year.
I can tell you that for sure he is pissed about that pitch being called a strike and that taking more time than usual between pitches is one of his ways of showing it. The writer is wrong to say that Gonzalez broke a rule by leaving the box. The rule hey quoted specifically makes an exception for cases where the batter feints a bunt, which Gonzalez clearly did. My favorite part is watching him take his time in between pitches. He even blames himself a lot by hitting his chest to tell the pitcher the extra time is on him.
